Home Crop a photo
Crop a photo
Square, 4:5, 16:9, a circle, or an exact pixel size. The picture stays in this browser.
Why this exists
A profile, a thumbnail, and a print size already have a shape. A rough crop loses an edge after upload.
The photo does not travel to an address. A face stays on this screen.

01How to use it
Drop the photo on the dashed box. Drag on the picture to choose a region, then pull a corner to resize it.
Pick a ratio or a circle, and type pixels into width and height. Rotate or flip, choose PNG, JPEG, or WebP, and save.

02What you get
A 4032×3024 photo at 1:1 becomes a centered 3024×3024. The new name adds _crop.
A circle saves as PNG with a clear outside. JPEG and WebP use the quality slider.
Enteredprofile.jpg · 4032 × 3024 · 1:1
Result profile_crop.png · 3024 × 3024 Place A centered square. The original stays put. -
03Worth knowing
1:1 suits a profile, 4:5 a tall feed, 9:16 a short or a story, and 16:9 a wide thumbnail.
The kept dots stay as they were. A tiny crop enlarged later looks soft. Use image compression when only the file size should fall.
Questions
- QWhich shapes are ready?
- AFree, 1:1, 4:5, 3:4, 16:9, 9:16, a custom width-to-height pair, and a circle. Width and height are separate pixel fields.
- QDoes the picture get softer?
- AThe kept part stays dot for dot. Enlarging a small crop later looks soft.
- QWhere does the photo go?
- AIt stays in this browser. Saving writes a new file on the device. Kitharu does not keep a copy.
- QWhat about a circle?
- AThe outside is clear and the file is PNG. JPEG cannot keep that clear edge.
